A Shared Mission: Education for Every Child

For millions of children worldwide, going to school is not guaranteed. Some live in communities where schools are under-resourced. Others have lost everything due to natural disasters, conflict, or displacement.

Without the right tools, even something as simple as a pencil or exercise book, many children are unable to learn, develop, or reach their potential.

That is where School in a Bag comes in. The charity provides backpacks filled with essential learning resources, giving children the tools, confidence, and opportunity to gain an education.

Since its founding in 2009, School in a Bag has distributed thousands of school bags to children in more than 50 countries, including the UK, Nepal, Ghana, and Ukraine, and we are proud to now play our part in helping that number grow.

BSG’s Role in Action

Our partnership with School in a Bag is more than just a donation; it is a long-term commitment to support education and opportunity where it is needed most.

As part of our involvement, BSG is supplying stationery for 10,000 school bags every year. That means thousands of children will have the chance to write, draw, calculate, and learn with the same basic tools many of us take for granted.

And for our teams, it is more than just numbers. Earlier this year, our Bristol team took part in a hands-on packing event, helping to prepare some of the bags we sponsored.

Seeing the impact first-hand, and knowing these bags will soon reach children across the world, was an inspiring reminder of what collective action can achieve.

What Is Inside a School Bag?

Every School in a Bag rucksack is filled with the tools to make learning possible:

• 12 pencils
• 10 ballpoint pens
• 12 colouring pencils
• Maths set
• Ruler
• Pencil case
• 6 exercise books (squared, lined, and plain)
• Lunch box containing a spork, mask, small towel, bar of soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste
• Water bottle

Each one is thoughtfully assembled to provide everything a child might need for school, supporting both education and hygiene.

It is simple, yet powerful. Each bag represents hope, opportunity, and the possibility of a brighter future.

When a child receives their school bag, it is more than just a gift; it is a message that someone, somewhere, believes in their potential.

For children who have faced extreme hardship, this act of generosity can make the difference between dropping out of school and starting a journey of lifelong learning.
